Neologism Project (visual oratory)
Embodied neologism is a collective exhibition Project, that invites Latin-American and European artists related by the same generation, working on different visual languages that transit the contemporary practices of art, driving the personal researches on art to a collective discussion and interaction, defined under the idea of an in situ discussion field, where the different cultural contexts of each artist dialog.
Defining the idea of the exhibition in crossing and friction, in analogy and discussion, in nearness and distances that operating on a group provides, proposing to review the present scenario of arts as a subjective experience event that is progressively participating in the sociopolitical and cultural system.
This idea of collective exercise extrapolates to the creation of networks of dialogue, to the creation of new platforms of coexistence between different cultures, to the creation of a social system of knowledge on net, proposing to establish links between countries, people and cultures, settled in the exchange of looks, of forms of working and thinking, in the exchange of knowledge and fundamentally in the perception of the world that each artist has and deposits on a common scenario for it to be experienced by others, reviewed, inhabited emotional and conceptually.
Neologism presents itself as a premise of dialogue and social approach, universalization of culture, enlargement of knowledge, where art can act as a sociopolitical and cultural agent with real interference on the contemporary society.
From language
This project settles above diversity or dispersion of word and its etymological matrix as a communicating system that marks a difference in the semantic contents of language on its own. Determined by the diverse origins and contexts of the invited artists, establishing this “instance of difference”as a production support.
Topological distance between the concepts and forms in which art operates affected by its political, cultural and social environment.
The convention of word, properly the sign in its wider dimension, brings up the cultural utilization of diverse codes to denominate the same things and its strict meaning is altered on the variations of its use, its destruction, mutation, transfiguration and cultural re-signification.
It’s a problematic that finds it’s simile in the cohabitation of the different plastic languages and its contextual references, defining the distinct semantic resonances under global models of visual communication (universal senses) conditioning its concretion as artwork to the limited identities of each place approaching from this perspective situations and complexation around the cultural diversity, it axis of distance and the possible joints that are proposed from art as a universal tool that knits a social net that overcomes differences.
The project proposes to join the operative diversity of each artist, its production context and the subjectivity of its languages; different systems of visual production that are distant from each other, being aware of the crossing and the lost (wear) prompted by the geographic distances, a non minor issue at the moment of developing a collective exercice that supports itself in the convention of written and spoken language, transformed and translated into visual speculations that give sense to the different plastic proposals, which are articulated from their local settlement (cultural origin) in an associative meeting of multidisciplinary dialogues, proposing an unusual cohabitat of forms and senses, a society in the artwork, an artwork in society, related in a net of perceptual understanding situated in the significant and globalizing ligations of art today.
A series of artists of different countries participate in this project, adding or minimizing the amount of people depending on where it’s done.
The exhibition concept is different for each space, the artworks are made specifically for each one of the spaces, according to a previous notification.
This is an independent non-profit project made by the collaboration of cultural institutions, artists, theoreticians, galleries, museums and government support.
